PROBLEMS WITH CALORIE RESTRICTED DIETS?
Since most diets limit your calorie intake one way or another. The
results can sometimes put a damper on our progress. Without proper nutrition you will find it quite
difficult to improve on your physique, lose weight, gain muscle or improve on your sports performance.
Carbohydrate Restricted Diets
The problem with restricted carbohydrate diets is the diminish in energy levels. This
can lead into a severely fatigued body that's not capable of doing much of anything but, rest. The
bottom line is you need carbohydrates for your energy, brain, heart and muscles. by limiting your
intake of carbohydrates to much can lead into a big setback in progress.
It is recommended that 40% of your total daily calorie intake be in
carbohydrates.
Protein Restricted Diets
The problem with Protein Restricted Diets is the loss of muscle. This can lead into
muscle soreness, general fatigue, and weakness due to the low intake of protein.
It is recommended that 30% of your total daily calorie intake be in
protein.
Fat Restricted Diets
Diets that cut down fat intake in your diet is definitely healthier. But those that
cut to much unsaturated fat out of there diet can lead into problems.
Fat is a major carrier for the four fat soluable vitamins (A, D, E, and K). It also cushions
our kidneys, liver and nerves. Research has found that extremely low intake of unsaturated fats
can lead into high cholesterol that can cause a heart attack or stroke.
It is recommended that 30% of your total daily calorie intake be in fat.
 When restricting calories your body will pick up on it and actually think that is
going into starvation and fight back and slow down. This causes your metabolism to slow down.
